The Rewind Technique is an evidenced based psychological intervention commonly used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex trauma. The Rewind Technique heals trauma by allowing individuals to reprocess distressing memories in a safe and controlled environment. By viewing the traumatic event from a detached, observer's perspective, the emotional charge associated with the memory is reduced. This process helps to break the link between the memory and the intense fear or anxiety it once triggered, enabling people to recall the event without being overwhelmed by negative emotions. In doing so, the technique promotes emotional resilience and facilitates recovery from trauma.
One advantage of the Rewind Technique compared to other treatments such as EMDR is that the Rewind Technique is generally less intrusive and does not require individuals to verbally recount their traumatic experience in detail, which can be distressing for some. Additionally, it can often be completed in fewer sessions and is suitable for people who may struggle with direct exposure therapies. This makes it a gentler option for those who feel uncomfortable with more confrontational approaches.
The Rewind Technique is effective for treating trauma in people who:

Our Goal for the Rewind Technique is Twofold:
1. Stop Involuntary Recall: Help you to stop reliving the traumatic event unintentionally,
2. Restore Functioning: Enable you to resume normal activities without fear or anxiety,
for a single event trauma. For multiple event trauma, each traumatic event can be dealt with separately over separate sessions.
